Are co-parenting app records accepted in court?

Short answer: often, yes — as evidence of what was said and when. But no app can guarantee admissibility, and anyone who promises otherwise is selling something.

What courts generally care about

That the record is complete rather than curated; that messages cannot have been edited or deleted after the fact; that dates, times and authorship are clear; and that the export is legible without a technical explanation.

What weakens a record

Gaps where messages were deleted, screenshots cropped out of context, and a tone that reads like a case being built rather than a child being raised. Judges read thousands of these. Calm is credible.

What Manon does about it

Messages cannot be edited or deleted once sent, by either parent. Exports are numbered, dated PDFs designed to be read by someone with no interest in learning an app.

What to do this week

Ask your lawyer what they actually want to receive — many prefer a single PDF over app access. Then stop writing messages for the judge and write them for the handover. The record takes care of itself.
