Manon holds things separating parents write about their children and to each other. That is sensitive by nature, so the shape of it matters. This page says exactly what we collect, who can see it, where it goes, and what happens when you leave.
Manon is operated by Manon Technologies Pty Ltd (ACN 702 920 241), a company registered in Australia. The person responsible for your data can be reached at support@manon.app. We answer every privacy request within 30 days, usually much sooner.
Everything in the first table is there because you or your co-parent typed it in. We collect nothing about your children from anywhere else.
| Account | Your name, email address and password (stored as a one-way hash, never readable), your language, country and currency, your avatar colour and your theme choice. |
| Your co-parent | Their name, and if you enter them, their email address, phone number and address, so the app can address messages and handovers to them. |
| Your children | Name, date of birth, and whatever you record: school, teacher, doctor, allergies, blood type, medications, emergency contacts, and notes about what helps them at changeovers. |
| Health | Illnesses, medications and doses given, appointments, vaccinations, and documents you upload. These records are append-only: they can be added to and corrected by a new entry, never silently changed. |
| Schedule | The custody rotation, holiday and special-date arrangements, handover times and locations, and calendar events. |
| Messages | Subject, message text, the time sent, read status, attached photos and their captions, and the AI-written summary and any softened version of a message. |
| Logbook and Journal | Entries, photographs, voice notes and their transcripts, and the reflection the app writes about an entry. |
| Expenses | Amounts, descriptions, category, which child, who paid, how it is split, receipt images, and reminders sent. |
| Advisor answers | The questionnaire you answer when you first open Messages: your goals, how you and your co-parent tend to communicate, what escalates things, and the safety level you choose. This is private to you and is never shown to your co-parent. |
| Relationship memory | A short profile the app builds from your incoming messages, so its drafts get calmer and more specific over time: recurring flashpoints, what tends to de-escalate, sensitive topics. Private to you. You can see it in Settings and reset it. |
| Staff access log | A permanent line each time someone at Manon opens your household’s data: who, when, which part and why. Either parent can ask us for a copy at any time. See When someone at Manon opens your data. |
Because the app runs, we also hold basic technical information: request and error logs, and an AI usage ledger that records the cost of each AI call against your account. When you use the demo without an account, that ledger records a one-way hash of your network address instead, so we can limit abuse without knowing who you are. We use no tracking cookies and no third-party analytics. The only things stored in your browser are your sign-in session and a few display preferences.
Manon is built around a household, not an individual. When you and your co-parent are linked, the shared records belong to the household and both of you can see them: the children and everything recorded about them, the schedule and handovers, the calendar, the expenses, the health record, the documents, and the messages between you.
Four things stay private to each parent and are never visible to the other, however the accounts are linked: your advisor questionnaire answers, your relationship memory, your writing-style profile, and the AI drafts you did not send. Journal entries are shared or private according to the setting on each entry; check it before you write something you would not want read.
Sent messages cannot be edited or deleted by either parent, or by us on your behalf. The database refuses the change. The staff access log, described in the next section, covers both parents in the same way.
We don’t read your family’s data. If we ever have to open it, for example to fix a problem you reported, it goes through a single door that first writes a line to your household’s staff access log: who opened it, when, which part (messages, expenses, health and so on) and why. Nobody can change or delete a line, including us; the database refuses it. Either parent can ask for a copy of the full log at any time by writing to support@manon.app, and both parents get the same list. An empty log means nobody at Manon has opened your family’s data.
Manon’s automatic features, such as softening a message, suggesting a reply or writing your logbook summary, are software rather than people, so they are not listed there. What they receive is described under AI processing below.
To be plain about the limit: as the owner of the service, Manon’s founder has full technical access to the database. The log records every opening that goes through that door, but it cannot physically stop someone with owner access from going around it. What it gives you is a written, permanent commitment and a record you can check. Going around it would be a breach of this policy.
Manon uses AI to read an incoming message and summarise it neutrally, to draft a reply that protects you, to soften a message you are about to send, to summarise a conversation, to write a title or a short reflection for a logbook entry, to read a receipt, to draft a payment reminder, and to write the daily card on the Home screen.
To do that, the text involved, together with the context the feature needs (your questionnaire answers, your children's names and notes, recent messages, your relationship memory), is sent to Anthropic, PBC, which runs the model and returns the result. Voice notes are sent as audio to Groq, Inc., which returns the transcript. Neither provider uses data sent through its API to train models, and neither keeps it beyond what is needed to process the request and detect abuse. We do not train any model on your data.
The AI is an assistant, not an authority. Its summaries and drafts can be wrong. You decide what to send, and the record shows what you sent, not what was suggested. If you would rather no text left the app for this purpose, turn off the summary and draft features in Messages settings, and do not use the softening, reflection or voice features; the calendar, expenses, health record and messaging all work without them.
| Supabase, Inc. | Database, sign-in, file storage and server functions. Your data is stored in Sydney, Australia. |
| Anthropic, PBC | AI text processing, as above. Requests are processed in the United States. |
| Groq, Inc. | Voice-note transcription. Processed in the United States. |
| Resend, Inc. | Sending email on our behalf: sign-in and password emails, and messages you choose to send to your co-parent by email. Resend sees the recipient address, the subject and the text of those emails. |
| StackBlitz, Inc. (Bolt) | Serving the app's code to your browser. Sees the ordinary web-server information any host sees. Does not hold your records. |
Each of these providers works under a contract that limits them to processing on our instructions. We do not share your data with anyone else, and we do not sell it. We will disclose it only if the law requires us to, and we will tell you if we are allowed to.
Your records live in Sydney, Australia. AI processing and transcription happen in the United States, and transactional email is sent from the United States. If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, that means your data is transferred outside your region for those purposes. Those transfers rest on the standard contractual clauses in our providers' data processing agreements.
For as long as you have an account, and as set out below when you close it. Messages, the health record and the staff access log are designed to be permanent while the household exists, because their value is that they cannot be rewritten. Server logs are kept for 30 days. Database backups are kept for 7 days and then overwritten.
You can delete your account from Settings. You do not have to ask us. When you do:
If you want a copy first, use Export in Messages, which produces a dated PDF of the record, or ask us at support@manon.app for a full export of everything we hold about you.
Manon is for parents and carers who are 18 or over. Children do not have accounts and cannot sign in. Everything about a child in Manon is entered by their parents, and each parent is responsible for what they record. We treat children's data with more care than the law requires, not less: it is never used for anything but showing it back to the two parents, and it leaves the app only for the AI processing described above.
Access to your data is enforced in the database, not only in the app. Every record is bound to a household, and the database refuses reads and writes from anyone outside it, whatever the app or an attacker asks. Passwords are hashed. Traffic is encrypted in transit and data is encrypted at rest. Sent messages and health entries are frozen by database rules that no user, and no ordinary administrator, can bypass.
No system is perfect. If you find a weakness, please tell us at support@manon.app before telling anyone else, and we will fix it and thank you. If a breach ever affects your data in a way that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you, and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, promptly and plainly, as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.
Wherever you live, you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to how we process it, and take a complaint to a regulator. Most of this you can do yourself in the app; for the rest, write to support@manon.app and we will answer within 30 days.
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988. If you are in Australia, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, the General Data Protection Regulation applies to how we treat you, and you can complain to your national data protection authority.
manon.app itself sets no cookies. It counts visits to its pages, without keeping anything about who you are. If you join the launch list, we keep your email address and the language you signed up in, use it only to tell you when Manon opens and for occasional news about the app, and delete it when you ask. Emails from us always include a way to stop them.
If we change this policy in a way that affects you, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect, and the date at the top will change. Small wording changes will not be announced.
